CR 3.0 upgrade kit design is based on successful CR'07 and C2.0 platform thinking but introduces lipo-friendly chassis with link rear suspension to meet the new trends. CR3.0 has been tested and raced by the V-Dezign team drivers during 2009 for hundreds of packs in different conditions with good results.
The wheelbase is same as with CR2.0 - that is 2mm longer than in CR'07 and also longer compared to many competitors - to gain better balance in bigger tracks and to get the car more stable in high speed turns. This makes the CoG to move a bit more to back which can be felt also when racing in low traction tracks. This change also gives more steering at the end of the main straight in fast turns and still being more stable at the same time. The front end holes are made to fit both AE and CRC front ends. There are 2 types of chassis available as there is a difference in measurements between CRC and AE DS front-end mounting holes and front end width. When using CRC based chassis (default chassis if not ordered for AE DS front) with AE DS front-end, the car is about 1.5mm wider in front compared to when CRC front end used.
To get rid of wide chassis effects caused by the link mounting knuckles on the sides, new link mounting brackets have been developed to get the chassis narrower for better handling on bumpy tracks due to less contacts between carpet and chassis - smoother thru the bumps and corners! CR3.0 chassis is made from very high quality and stiff graphite material to ensure stable handling in all conditions.
CR3.0 chassis - like CR2.0 - is a lot shorter in front compared to competitors to get better drivability in bumpy tracks due to shorter 'nose'. It is recommended to use alum screws with bumper and body post plates to avoid maximum damage if crashing badly.
If using Yokomo or any other wheels with wider offset, it is needed to use Team CRC 4227 - Narrow Diff Hub for Brushless Pod. CR2.0 upgrade chassis is designed to be used with either AE Dynamic Strut or CRC Pro-Strut front ends. CRC is recommended to be used by V-Dezign.
There are 2 types of chassis available, for AE DS front-end and for CRC ProStrut, they have slightly different mounting hole measurements.
