CR 2.0 upgrade kit is based on successful CR’07 platform. All new 2.0 has been tested by the team drivers during 2007-2008 season with great results and is now ready to be released!
The main difference with CR2.0 compared to CR’07 is that 2.0 has better handling with brushless motors with growing speed due to hi-power batteries. In CR2.0 motor has been moved more to the right to get best possible balance with BL motors when accelerating especially at low traction tracks. The wheelbase is 2mm longer than in CR’07 to gain better balance in bigger tracks and to get the car more stable in high speed turns. This makes the CoG to move a bit more to back which can be felt also when racing in low traction tracks. This change also gives more steering at the end of the main straight in fast turns and still being more stable at the same time. The front end is made wider to work together with longer wheelbase to maintain higher speed also in tight curves without being tricky to drive.
Chassis is also re-designed to move the cells more to the centre of the chassis for quicker response. Not only to move batteries more to the centre, CR2.0 is re-designed with the shapes of the chassis to get it stiffer under the servo when flexing. This gives more stable handling in fast corners and especially at high traction tracks. Chassis is also a lot shorter in front to get better drivability in bumpy tracks due to shorter ’nose’. It is recommended to use alum screws with bumper and body post plates to avoid maximum damage if crashing badly.
If using Yokomo or any other wheels with wider offset, it is needed to use Team CRC 4227 - Narrow Diff Hub for Brushless Pod.
